Electric stove burner not heating: Frigidaire repair in Charlotte
By OK Appliance Repair
The rear-right cooktop burner would not heat
A Charlotte customer reported that one burner on their Frigidaire electric stove was not heating. It was the small rear-right burner on the glass cooktop.

What we checked and replaced
We checked the burner’s heating element for continuity. Continuity was present: the test found an unbroken electrical path through the element at that time.
That reading alone does not establish that a control switch has failed or verify every part of the circuit. In this repair, we replaced the burner’s infinite switch. The rear-right burner heated again after the replacement.

What an infinite switch does
An infinite switch controls the power supplied to a surface heating element. On this type of control, the heat setting changes how long power is switched on and off. E.G.O., a manufacturer of these regulators, explains this operating principle in its energy regulator overview.
A burner that does not heat should not automatically be treated as a failed switch. The appliance’s model, wiring and component checks matter when choosing a repair. The model and replacement part number are not available for this case, so these photos should not be used to select a part for another range.
